Nearly 60% of assets stolen from Binance are beyond any freeze order

$6.3 billion in stolen assets broken down by issuer freezeability, 29 October 2026 · USD billions

$2.59B
frozen by Tether, Circle & Ripple
$3.71B
held in structurally unfreezable native assets
Tether and Circle together immobilised roughly $2.4 billion in under three minutes — the largest single-day stablecoin freeze in history. But the 18,270 BTC and 511,861 ETH that left Binance's wallets carry no issuer-controlled blacklist function, meaning more than half the breach total is structurally beyond compliance action unless the attacker surfaces on a regulated exchange.
