Timeline of alleged Afghan trafficker Abdul Zahir Qadeer

Earlier in this month an individual secretly working for the US Drug Enforcement Administration, identified as CS-1, pretends to be part of a drug trafficking organisation and begins communicating with Qadeer, who is from Afghanistan, via encrypted platforms. On this day CS-1 tells Qadeer they are laundering millions of dollars via the drug trafficking organisation operating in Africa.

CS-1 explains that the organisation wants four to six kilograms of high-quality heroin delivered to Africa, which will then be tested in other locations, including the US. The price Qadeer suggests is a concern, so they turn their focus to another drug.

Qadeer agrees to provide CS-1 with a two-kilogram methamphetamine sample.

A price of $14,000 is settled on for the methamphetamine.

Another individual, CS-2, also secretly working for the US’s Drug Enforcement Administration, ensures the money is paid to Qadeer’s nephew in Afghanistan.

Qadeer allegedly confirms to CS-1 that the drug stash was from him. Qadeer apparently does not realise he is caught out.

CS-1 asks Qadeer if he can supply weapons including machine guns. Qadeer says his “suppliers” can provide “huge” quantities, 200 to 300 rifles per order.

Qadeer flies from Kabul to Kenya.
