South Africa has always been the bedrock of the Comrades field, and that remains true for the Centenary. But the 2027 entry list is unmistakably more global — international runners have nearly doubled since 2026, and the combined non-South African field of nearly 5,000 is the largest ever, drawn by the race's once-in-a-century milestone.
